After the naturalization decree

Steps to take once your decree is published: ceremony, CNF, ID card, passport.

    French citizenship welcome ceremony

    Depending on your municipality, a ceremony may be organized. Check with your town hall.

    French nationality certificate (CNF)

    Request your CNF from the judicial court of your residence. It is proof of your nationality.

    Decree ampliation

    You can obtain a certified copy of your decree from the prefecture.

    ID card and passport

    With your CNF or ampliation, apply for your first French ID card and passport.

    Administrative updates

    Inform your employer, health insurance, and banks of your nationality change.
