The Naturalization Process
Publication of your decree in the Official Journal is the final step. Here's what you need to know before and after it happens.
After your naturalization interview, it often takes 12 to 18 months before decree publication. Timing varies by case.
The Official Journal publishes naturalization decrees weekly. This publication is what officially confirms nationality.
AlertJO monitors each Official Journal publication and notifies you by email as soon as your name or file number appears.
Once your decree is published, you can request your nationality certificate, then apply for your French ID card and passport.
How AlertJO Works
A simple, free tool that saves you from checking the Official Journal manually every week.
Three steps, zero effort
We scan the JO
Each week, AlertJO automatically analyzes new Official Journal publications for naturalization decrees.
Your file number is matched
When a decree containing your file number is detected, you're immediately identified.
You get notified
An email alert is sent to you right away — no manual checking needed.
What users say
Feedback from people who used AlertJO during their naturalization process.
I had been checking the JO manually every Friday for months. AlertJO sent me the email on a Tuesday morning — I would have missed it for days.

Decree published February 2025
Still waiting for my decree, but at least I don't have to refresh Legifrance every week anymore. I just wait for the alert.

Waiting since 2023
My wife found out about AlertJO and signed us both up. We got the notification the same day the decree came out. Made the CNF appointment the next morning.
