CAA (administrative court of appeal)
The administrative court of appeal hears appeals brought against judgments of the administrative courts. In a naturalization case the court action is first brought before the Nantes administrative court; an appeal against its judgment then goes to the administrative court of appeal.
According to service-public.gouv.fr, an appeal is in principle brought within two months of the judgment being notified in mainland France, and the appeal does not suspend anything: the contested decision keeps applying unless a separate stay of execution is requested. An appeal on points of law to the Conseil d'État remains possible against the court's ruling.
The official page also states what an appeal must contain: it cannot merely repeat the arguments already put to the administrative court, it must criticise the contested decision.
These elements are general information. AlertJO is not a legal service and represents nobody before a court.
